Dr Georgia McCaughan
Dr Georgia McCaughan is a clinical and laboratory Haematologist at St Vincent’s Hospital. She graduated from Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney in 2011 with the University Medal and has completed a Masters in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology).
Georgia has an interest in plasma cell dyscrasias including multiple myeloma and AL amyloidosis. She leads the Myeloma Clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital and is a member of the St Vincent’s Amyloidosis Multidisciplinary Clinic. Georgia has a strong interest in clinical trials and is actively involved in novel clinical trial design. She is the current chair of the Myeloma Working Group and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG). She is also a steering committee member of the Australasian Myeloma Research Consortium (AMaRC) and a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Group to Myeloma Australia. She is the principal investigator on both investigator initiated and pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Georgia is a Senior Research Associate with the University of New South Wales and Garvan Institute of Medical Research and works collaboratively with Professors Peter Croucher and Tri Phan in the areas of myeloma bone disease and cancer cell dormancy.
